The Texas Custodial Trust is committed to the remediation of the Site and to working with the surrounding community and stakeholders. As part of our stakeholder outreach efforts we are dedicated to maintaining a website that has the most current and up-to-date site information. Please note that there have been new website updates and some new site activities. These include:
- Trustee Returning
The Site Trustee is scheduled to be in El Paso from June 30 – July 1 and July 9 – 13. Currently the Trustee has scheduled the following meetings for June/July:
- June 30
- 3pm – Meeting with EPA at the Site
- 5:30pm – City of El Paso Charrette Process: Work in Progress Presentation, Main Library Auditorium – 501 N. Oregon
- July 1
- 8am – IBWC meeting at the site
- 10:30am – Site tour for the Community Scholars
- July 9
- 7:45am – Meeting with Congressman Reyes at the site
- July 12
- 7:00am – Meeting with the constituents of Representative Steve Ortega at the Village Inn – 2275 Trailwood
- July 13
- 7:00am – Ex-ASARCO Workers Group – Site tour and information session at the site
- Site Auction (August 2010)
On August 2, 3, 4 & 5, an auctioneer will sell off many of the site’s assets, including a self-propelled railroad crane, equipment from a metal shop, a wood shop and a metallurgy department.
Please note that auction is NOT being held in July (as indicated in some of the local newspapers).
